  1. I've downloaded Doom 95, which is the win95 version of doom. The 
  2. main difference with other versions is that it runs in 640x400.
  3. The graphics are very nice in this resolution, but it makes 
  4. it almost as fast on a P75 as BM is in 160x200 (at least it 
  5. seems so). But people seem to prefer it, which indicates that 
  6. the look is almost as important as the framerate for a good 
  7. gameplay. We have the advantage to be in true color which could 
  8. compensate the framerate (which is very good, don't 
  9. misunderstand me).
  10. One precision, though. This doom 95 thing has been adapted by 
  11. Microsoft people, which could explain the low framerate ;)

  13. BTW, v.2.03 looks great and is still sooo fast! Great work, 
  14. Doug. Seems like the transparent walls imply almost no slowdown.
  15. But I was disappointed not to find v.2.04 in my mailbox this 
  16. morning ;)
